Carcoar Village Fair Rescheduled for 2022
The Carcoar Village Association announces that the annual Carcoar Village Fair traditionally held on Australia Day will not be going ahead in January 2021 due to current COVID restrictions and impacts.
“As a small village community, we have a responsibility to both residents and visitors to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone is taken into account,” explains Tim Hansen, President of the Carcoar Village Association.
“With increasing domestic tourism to the region and to our village over the past six months, we have not made this decision lightly but feel it’s the right thing to do for our community – particularly in light of the median age of local elderly residents and residents of the Uralba Retirement Village. We are now looking forward to coming back with a bigger and brighter event in 2022.”
No official activities, entertainment or re-enactment performances for Australia Day will be hosted in Carcoar on 26 January 2021, however the village will very much be open for business and welcomes visitors.
“Bring a picnic basket and your family, sit down by the Belubula River and soak up the fresh country air. Our shops will be open and we just ask for visitors to be mindful that we are a small village with limited facilities and to be patient and follow safe practices while you’re here.
It is strongly recommend to book ahead if you would like to dine at the local pub, the Royal Hotel Carcoar.
